Joanilio Rodolpho Teixeira is Emeritus Professor and Senior Researcher at the University of Brasilia (UnB) and a Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS). He has an MSc in Applied Mathematics from ITA, Brazil and a PhD in Economics from the University of Kent at Canterbury, England. He has received Post-Doctorals as Visiting Scholar in Cambridge, Harvard, Oxford, Berkeley, LSE, CEPREMAP, Sorbonne, etc. He was Visiting Professor in Lugano, Verona, IEDES-Lisbon, Paris, Milan, Portland, etc. He has published around 120 articles in influential journals in Economics. He has also published 13 books (sometimes proceedings of international conferences). He was the founder and the first Chairman of the Brazilian Econometrics Society and also the Editor of the Brazilian Review of Econometrics. He has received a number of Brazilian and international awards. He is the leader of the international group on "Growth and Distribution" in the National Council of Science and Technology (CNPq-Brazil) and has organized 11 International Colloquia.
