Prof. Mircea Malitza is currently the Founding Member of the Black Sea University Foundation and Vicepresident of the European Cultural Centre, Bucharest. Prof. Malitza is also one of the founding members of the NGO 'Club of Bucharest. He was Director of the Library of the Romanian Academy (1950-1956), first counselor of the Permanent Mission of Romania to the UN (1956-1961), Director of the Cultural Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1961-1962), Deputy Minister UN bodies International (1962-1970), Minister of Education (1970-1972), Foreign Adviser and Minister of State, Member of the UN world conferences preparatory to the public, science and technology for development (1974 - 1979), former Romanian ambassador to the UN in Switzerland (Geneva) (1980-1982), and in the U.S. (1982-1984).
